Hair Extension Guide
Hair extensions require styling to get them to blend with your natural hair. Be prepared for that when making the decision to get hair extensions. This may consist of round brushing, flat ironing and or curling the hair along with your natural hair to create a seamless blend.
• To prep your hair prior to install, wash your hair with a good clarifying shampoo and condition only the mid to ends of your hair. Do not apply any additional products.
• Regular washing of your hair should be once every 2-4 days. Use sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner. Any “bonding, strengthening, or protein” products are NOT recommended. Use a deep conditioning mask every few weeks to keep the hair moisturized.
• Brush the hair every morning and night as well as every time you wash. It is very important to keep hair thoroughly brushed between rows daily to avoid tangles and/or matting.
• Swimming tips- salt water and chlorine can be hard on hair. Wet your hair in fresh water prior to swimming and apply leave-in conditioner. Low ponytails are the best way to avoid tangles in the water. Spray the leave-in conditioner again and brush immediately after getting out of the water.
• We do not recommend coloring extensions. Any coloring you choose to do is at your own risk. Coloring hair extensions voids all warranties.
• Use heat protection before any and all styling/blow drying.
• Light shedding is normal with all hair extensions.
• Brush hair thoroughly and secure in a low ponytail or braid before sleeping.
• A silk pillowcase and/or bonnet is recommended.
• Never go to bed with wet hair.
• For K-tip methods:
- Wait 48 hours before washing after initial installation.
- Dry the root area after water exposure to avoid damage due to prolonged water exposure.
- Avoid contact with hot tools to avoid the bonds from melting.
